Homeschooling Looks Different

Homeschooling looks different in every house hold.  Just like every class room looks different in public school. Some homeschools look different day to day.  Some have their children get up at 6 and school starts at 730am where others let their children sleep till they wake up and then get started on the day.

A good homeschool teacher watches to see what works for their child and adjust as they go.  Sleeping in used to be a good thing for my oldest now he does better if he gets up by 8 and starts his school work right away. He likes to get it done and over.

We are what I like to call eclectic homeschoolers. Lately since we have had sickness in our home we have been more like unschooling.  Unschooling is very laid back and for the most part child led learning.  Since we have had sickness we have done read alouds from bible stories to just a fun book to listen too. Online games on the laptop, for fun like unscramble-words, hangman,  and word search.  We have watched education movies on Netflix like Liberty Kids and a dinosaur series.

Even though we have not had our normal homeschool schedule w/ books and t4ling.  I still feel my children have learned a lot. Even through the sickness.

Always remember that all homeschools look different.  Just like every child is different.
