The Student Success Act

A lot has happened in our state in the public school side of things.  Our new governor has signed a new bill   that will be making it harder for teachers to do their job w/o constantly being worried that the little amount of money they do make will never be raised.  From what I understand he signed a bill called "The Student Success Act" that ends teacher tenure and ties teacher pay to student performance.  I am all for holding teachers responsible for what they teach.  But when you take what little motivation a person has away from them then what will the outcome be.  


As if FCATS were not hard enough for these teachers, they basically teach to the FCAT yearly and will have very few extras taught.  Example is cursive writing I spoke of before in another post.  Now they are being hit again.  This of course will lead more people to homeschool.  More people who will want to homeschool due to the fact that teachers seem more stressed and will not be enjoying teaching.  


Parents will start looking at all the homeschool trends that are out there instead of public school.  They will be looked at such as Classical, Unit Studies, Unschooling, Online Schooling, Computer Schooling the list goes on and on....
