PPPEA Used Curriculum Book Sale 2011

This past weekend we had the HUGE PPEA Used Curriculum Book Sale.  This is a big event where members of the Pinellas Parent Education Association are assigned a seller number then they mark their books a certain way.

This is just the language Arts and you can not see all of it.

Then they drop their books off in the morning and by mid afternoon they are able to come back and all PPEA Members can come and shop for what ever they are in need of.  What is great about this sale is that the books are all separated according to the subject.

So if you only need Science and Math this year then you only need to check out those tables but if you are in need of a preschool curriculum or a latin curriculum you can look in the foreign language too.  But I think my favorite thing about the day is the time you get to spend with other homeschoolers.

Talking about one of our favorite topics "Curriculum".  What works for us and what doesn't work for us.  Knowing that what works for one family might not work for another but you never know.

One thing I shared was this great place to practice keyboarding games among other grade levels of math vocabulary. I also talked about this great middle school writing course.

I know none of those can be found at the Used Curriculum Sale, but again the other great thing about that sale is the fellowship of homeschoolers sharing ideas and resources. It is one of the most rewarding and tiring days of the year for me. Love every minute of it.

(Thank you Momma Mary for the great pictures!)
