This past weekend we had to go on a short 2.5 hour trip in the van with our kids. Well, actually we had a total of 6 kids in the van at one point. Ages ranging from 2-10. We do not have one of those newer vehicles with the video systems in them so we are left with our phone, kindle and radio to help entertain the kids.
The two things that the kids liked most where the educational songs we played on the radio (CD) and me reading books from my kindle and holding the pictures where they could all see the pictures.
I have been getting some great fun kids picture books on my kindle for free from the website
They seem to put together a list of free Kindle books for all kinds of subjects up on this site almost every day. There is some type of free kindle book for every member of the family.
This has become a great resource for us.

I love road trips with my boys, where we can chat and play games (they like the word game where one person says a word, then the next person has to say a word that starts with the last letter of the word of the previous person...we crack up, lol). :)
