Fun with Words

Have you ever heard of a word game called Hinky Pinky?  This is a word game used to help your student, practice syllable, rhyming words, and synonym skills.  The object of the game is simple...

1. Give a clue
2. Guess the two word answer.  

The trick is the answer contains two words that are equal in number of syllables and rhyme.  There are different variations of this game.  Hinky Pinky is two syllable answers, Hink-Pinks will be one syllable and Hinkies Pinkies will be three syllable answers. 

Here is an example:

Clue : sick young chicken









Answer : sick chic

Clue : sound slumber









Answer : deep sleep



Clue : Large truck

Answer :big rig

So you can create as many as you want or you can play the rhyming word games online. You can even look up online spelling list to play with.
