Wow it has been a long time since I have done a Five Question Friday!

1. How close to your childhood dreams is your life now?

Pretty close! All I can remember when I was little was I wanted to be a Mom. I got that dream come true 3 fold.  

2. What is one must have item for the summer?

Every family needs a KIDDY POOL! What would summer be like w/o a Kiddy Pool? Even if you have a big pool you need a kiddy pool to just soak your feet in while you watch the kids play!

3. Do you have your kids stay up on school stuff during summer vacation? (Or, if you don't have kiddos, did your parents make you keep up on school stuff during summer?)

Since we homeschool we school year round to keep from loosing any knowledge we might have learned. 

4. Do you can or freeze fresh produce? 

We use can produce mostly.  

5. Do you get ready for the day first thing in the morning?

Not first thing in the morning but when I first get up I try to get dressed with in like a half hour of being up and out of bed.

1. Have you ever had surgery?

I have a total of 3 surgeries.  All 3 were C-Sections.  

2. Ever ride in an ambulance?

Nope and really hope to never need to.

3. How are you in a medical emergency? Panicked? Calm?

Calm in front of others but alone I loose it.  Or when the emergency is over then I totally loose it.  

4. Do you have a garden? Flowers or veggies?

I wish I did.  I want one but just have not ever done it.  I know I tell myself every season I will do it this year.  Still waiting for the year it happens. 

5. When did you move out of your parents house?

I was 18 and got married and out of their house I went.

Five Question Friday wk 2/25/11

1. Can you drive a stick shift?

Yes, the first car I ever owned was a toyota celica and my sweet understanding handsome boyfriend taught me to drive it.  Man I am glad I married that man. 

2. What are two foods you just can't eat? 

1. FISH

2. FISH 

Fish is just down right gross.  It is gross to smell, gross to smell while cooking, gross to smell while eating and gross to smell while cleaning up.  Believe it or not I can handle fishing but then I don't eat while I fish. But not a fan of fish and really could not handle the smell of fish when I was pregnant w/ all 3 of my kids.  

3. Do you buy Girl Scout Cookies? What is your favorite kind?

Yes, not to many though.  I try to help our a few of our friends.  I get two boxes of Samoa's for me and two boxes of thin mints for Big Daddy.  This year Biggun asked if he could buy a box with his money.  He got tag alongs and is milking that box, taking his slow easy time eating "his" box. 

4. How do you pamper yourself?

Not really.  Before kids and even after Biggun I would get my nails done.  But I have them done in 5 years.  I have natural long nails but it is nice to have them painted up and stuff but I don't do it. No time or money.  I will be pampered again one day when my kids are older.  Until then I pamper them. 

5. What is your nickname and how did you get it?

Nicknames, mmmmm, depends on who you are talking to.  I grew up w/ Sugar Bear - my dad had gotten me a sugar bear cookie one day when we the car had broke down on the wrong part of town and we had to go into a grocery store to use the phone.  He bought me the sugar bear cookie while we waited. After that I would ask him often for a sugar bear cookie.  But of course my dad could only find them in that store, on the rough part of town.

Snookums - my sister calls me that, not sure where it came from she just called  me that one day and it stuck.  

Aunt B.  - my nephew called me that one day and it became my blogging world handle for a long time.  My neighbor kids call me Mz. Aunt B. 

Lil'Momma is now my blogging nickname.

Five Question Friday wk 1/21/11

1. Where did you meet your spouse and did you instantly know it was love?

Short version - We met in highschool, band to be exact and I new it was love from the start.

2. What is your favorite room in your house?

I guess the room I like best is the living room, due to that is the room we spend the most time in together as a family.  But I would not say I have a favorite room in our house at all.  Our house needs updated and is very garage sale furnished.  So there really is not style so if you ask what room is my favorite to look at I would have to say none.  But what room I like to spend time w/ my family in the living room.

3. Can you wiggle your ears?

Umm, No. 

4. What is your evening ritual?

After my Big Daddy goes to bed at 9pm (He gets up between 1-2am), Biggun then goes to bed by 9:30ish and the littles will start to settle down. (they are night owls as am I.) I will then relax and blog or crochet.  Watch my shows on the computer and off to bed by 1 or 2 am depending on when Big Daddy gets up for work. 

5. How many hours of sleep do you need to function?

5 to 6 to function but 6-8 to feel good about facing the day.

1. What is your current favorite book, and why?

Other then the bible, I have not had any time to really find a favorite book right now, maybe when the littles grow up. 

2. Do you go to the dentist regularly?

Sadly I have to answer this question as no. (hanging head in shame)

3. What is your worst memory from High School?

My junior year I lost one of my favorite teachers.  She had a lung collapse and went into the hospital and never came out.  She was a heavy smoker and her lungs were weak anyway.  RIP Joyce Schoder. 

4. What do you hope to be remembered for in your life?

Being a good Wife and Mommy.

5. Are you superstitious or do you have any superstitions?

Not really superstitious.  Sorry but I am not.

1. What movie could you watch over and over again and not get tired of? 

Well, my kids would say their movie is Curious George movie one and two, but this question was what movie could I watch over and over.  I know this sounds strange but I really like the movie Conn Air, with Nicolas Cage.  I love the good guy winning story line.  It is so romantic. And believe it or not I am not a fan of action movies.  But that one always comes back to me.  Go figure?

2. What's your biggest pet peeve right now?

Huuh, wha, yahuu! oh can I can hear those words and just cringe.  Specially out of a child's mouth.  It is taking all I can do not to loose it when my 2 year old who does not have the verbal skills yet who keeps using the huuh when you ask him a question.  I hate this part of training.  But it will pass then you will NOT hear those phrases in my house! Instead you will hear Yes ma'am!

3. If you had to describe your best friend in five words or less, what would you say?

Loyal, Trustworthy, Creative, Christian, Awesome.

4. If you did not have to worry about money or go to school what would you do for a living?

Be a baker that did not have to clean up after I created the most yummy goodies.

5. What is your one "splurge" item, that you will always buy, no matter the cost?

I don't think there is anything that I need that I will pay for at amy cost.  I almost said diet coke w/ lime but there are times when I have been to cheap to by it.

1. How long does your Christmas tree stay up?

I just took the tree down today.  I try to get it down by Jan 1. 

2. Do you have plans for New Year's Eve?

I have not had real plans on New Year's Eve in years.  Sad I know, but most of the time Big Daddy has to work on New Year's Day and he has to sleep.  My son on the other hand has a standing invite over to his best friends for New Years Eve every year.  Lucky kid, play games, eat, dance around, eat, play more games, to be a kid is the life. 

3. Do you have any New Year's resolutions?

Not a resolution but a word theme for the year, you can read more about it on my blog FOCUS in 2011.

4. How did you spend New Year's Eve when you were younger?

From when I was a little kid we would play card games and watch the ball drop.  As a teenager we would have friends over, play games and watch the ball drop. As a young adult we would play cards with friends.  As a middle aged adult I just sit at home watch the ball drop. I know I live an exciting life. 

5. What was the best way you've ever spent New Year's Eve?

My best New Year's Eve was spent playing cards with my parents and my husband.  We have such a good time when we play cards.  I wish we did it more often.

Five Question Friday 12/10/2010

1. Do you open presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?
Usually we have family and friends over on Christmas Eve after the candle light service at church to enjoy birthday cake for Jesus. After that we started opening one or two gifts but the past two or three years we have opened all of them because my husband has had to work on Christmas day. Since we don't do Santa that is not a problem in our house. Big Daddy does not have to work on Christmas this year so we will have to wait and see what will happen.

2. What is your favorite Christmas cookie (or candy)?
Oh there is no question. My neighbor Ms. Aunt C. (that is what the kids call her and my kids call me Mz. Aunt B.) makes the peanut butter cookie with the chocolate kiss in the middle for me every year at Christmas. I look forward to a plate of these wonderful cookies every year. I don't know what she does to make them special but she sure rocks on those cookies!!!!

3. What's the worst Christmas gift you've ever received?
Is there really such a thing as a bad gift? I guess not getting a gift would be the worst gift. Cause anyone can give their time as a gift if they don't have money. So off the top of my head I can't think of any gift that I have ever gotten that has been bad.

4. Christmas song that you love?
Oh this year the new Where's the Line to See Jesus? by Becky Kelley has become my favorite. My next favorite is Mary Did You Know?

5. How many trees do you put up?
How many? Really? I can barely handle putting up just ONE tree Can't imagine putting up more then one.

Well it has been a rough couple weeks w/ sickness and all so here a I am finally back for Five Question Friday.

1. What's on the top of your holiday wish list and why?!

Not really any one item on the top my wish list. There are some simple things on my wish list this year for me. Not that I expect to receive any of them. Here are a few

    Do you see a theme here? 

Then there is this a netbook. so I don't have to share my mac anymore. Lastly there is a NEW camera! anything new will do, but this would be nice.

2. What is your favorite Christmas gift from the past?

I don't know if I have a favorite Christmas gift but my favorite all time gift I have received for my Birthday/Mothers day was my front porch swing. I really enjoyed that swing. It lasted me 3 years.  I swang two babies on that swing. It was wonderful!

3. If you had life to do over, what would you be when you grow up?

 I would not change a thing.  I love being a Mom.  I would just not have to work part time. So I could be a full Mom. I would also dream for funds to be able to do extra things with my kids.

4. When do you put up your tree?

I try to put it up the first weekend of Dec. cause if I am going to deal w/ the hassle of putting up a tree and decorating I want the FULL month to enjoy it. 

5. What is your favorite Holiday?

Holidays are touchy around our house.  My husband is quit the scrooge when it comes to ALL holidays even birthday/anniversaries. I think this is due to the fact that he always has to work on holidays.  So my favorite holiday would have to be the holiday that we can have my husband home from work and not be stressed over money.

1. What is the most physically painful thing that has ever happened to you?

 

The recovery after my second c-section.  Had a reaction to something and ended up w/ a skin yeast infection from my neck to my knees.  Between the c-section pain itself and that I about went crazy. (same thing happened after the 3rd s-section but I was ready for it mentally) 

2. How much sleep do you get at night?

 

7-8 hours usually but there are days when I only get 6.

3. How long did you believe in Santa Claus? How did you find out that he does not exist?

 

I honestly don't remember.  I had older sisters and they would always tell me if I did not believe in Santa then I did not believe in my parents.  As a child that scared me.  How can I not believe in my parents?

4. What was the last movie you saw in a theater?

It has been so long I honestly don't remember.  I  know not doing good w/ these questions today but the last movie I would have even tried to attend would have been when I was pregnant w/ Honey and that was almost 5 years ago. 

5. What do you wear to bed?

 

I have a pair of men's gym shorts that someone gave my son that do not fit him.  But they are soooo comfy I took them for myself.  As for my top it is usually a xl t-shirt of mine or one of my sweet hubbies t-shirts.

 

 

OK so I did not do so good on these questions not remembering much, old age, kids and well kids will do that to you.  Would love to hear your answers!
