Happy Birthday Honey!
Today my Honey turns 4 years old. It is hard to believe she is already 4. We did not think we were ment to have anymore children since Biggun was 7 years old when we got pregnant with Honey. We had not done anything to prevent from having children but God had only blessed us with 1 child thus far in our marriage. 14 years of marriage and we only had 1 child. I had all but given up hope we would have anymore children and chose to go on a diet and loose some weight. Not just for my health, but for my self esteem and for Big Daddy. Well I lost 40 lbs and found out I was pregnant with Honey. If you know Bigguns birth story you will see this could be a theme for me. (I will be writing his birth story in June around his birthday) The pregnancy was average nothing exciting. We found out we were having a girl and that just turned our world of ALL boy upside down. For 7 years we had been boy parents now we were going to add a girl! This was also the first girl in our family that was local to most of the family. I have a three nieces in our family at this time but 1 was in Washington State and the other 2 were in Pennsylvania. So this would be the first girl that was local to my parents and sister and Big Daddies mom also. We scheduled a c-section and Big Daddy blessed my mom, Gamma, by letting her go in the OR with me.
Honey was just perfect when she was born. Just beautiful, I love this picture of Biggun holding Honey for the first time!
Before we move on to the pics of Honey's first 4 years, head on over to my old blog to hear more of her birth w/ the first pictures HERE
Yes, she has a style all her own!
Happy Birthday Honey!

Playdough Fun
Lately my Honey Bear (3yrs) is totally into playdough. She has been playing w/ a few small packages of playdough the kind you put into party favors. So this morning she woke up and found her playdough had dried up. She had not sealed the container the night before. So we made homemade playdough today. Here are the pictures of our fun adventure.

Measure to here.
Pour all the ingredients in.
Mix it all in.
Cook over medium heat.
We made blue too.
Store in an airtight container.
BUT not until after you play with it for HOURS!!!
If you are looking for a recipe for homemade playdough there at TONS on the internet. But we chose the first recipe out of the ten on Tipnut.

Summer Fun
We had some summer fun today. Honey Bear and her friend Miss Beautiful had lots of fun playing in the kiddie pool in our back yard today. After about a half hour of playing in clean water they decided to turn it into muddy water. They played for another 1 1/2 making mud pies and having a blast.
Moose was outside w/ them before they got to muddy but he was so tired he came in got cleaned up and passed out....
Biggun was at a friends house most of the day so he did not get to enjoy this summer fun.
The best part about this was that I was able to sit at my kitchen table, in the a/c work on my part time job project and WATCH through my sliding glass doors these two littles girls get messy as they could. I on the other hand did not get messy at all. Some days it is good just to watch!

"Real" Preschool ?
Honey Bear turned 3years old and I have not done any "real" preschool stuff w/ her. Looking back on Biggun, I think I might have pushed him to fast in some things, thus he has some learning challanges. My goal is not to do that w/ Honey Bear or Moose.
Lets see, Honey Bear plays which is the best schooling for her. But what other the basics does she know so far....
Colors - she knows some already - (Thanks Sesame Street)
Shapes - she knows some of those, too (good old doodling worked here)
Farm Animals - yep she knows those (puzzles and books have done their trick)
Pets and Water Animals - she knows most of those (books have worked well)
Transportation - she knows about those too (thanks to Bob the Builder)
Family - (Baby dolls, kitchen set and oh our real family have helped here)
I could go on and on but I think you get the picture. That even though I am not sitting down daily and doing "preschool" activities with Honey Bear, like she would do if she went to a "formal preschool", she is still learning daily! God is good that way. Every day is a day of learning.
I will share that we did just start working on some fun activities using the Brown Bear Brown Bear book. I got the print outs from 1+1+1=1 Tot School Packet. Not that we are doing them every day, only about 2 or 3 times a week. Even Moose got in on working on the art part of our day today....

Mine update (Binki Update)
Honey Bear went to the Ped's Dr. on Feb 23 and took all her Mine's (binnkis) with her. She gave them to Dr. J. In turn Dr. J. said he would pass them on to needy babies. Since she was such a big girl being 3 years old and all she did not need them anymore.
The first night was horrible. She cried and whimpered for 2 hours until she fell asleep. She would cry "Why Dr. J, why you give mine's to babies?" This was so sad yet funny at the same time. The next night she only asked a few times for her beloved Mine's. Same questions would be asked, "Why Dr. J, why you give mine's to babies?"
Each night there after she would ask at least 1 time for her Mine's.
Well it has been 21 days since that big day that we left them w/ Dr. J. She stopped asking for her Mine's at night about day 15. God is good she is such a big girl.
BUT today what does she find in the bottom of a toy box but a MINE!!!!! Oh, no. She brought it to me showed it to me, sucked on it for a second then handed it to me and told met to give it to Dr. J. for the babies.
I just wanted to cry.... My baby is growing up!!!!!
