Strouse Academy in Full Swing!!!!

Oh boy how do ya'll w/ more then 3 kids do it? I honestly don't know how you do it. I am struggling w/ just 3. But 5 or even 8 kids. WOW don't know how you do it. Bless you and God be with you during your school year and daily life. With that being said, Strouse Academy is in full swing.

Now if you don't know that is 8th grader doing writing, a Kindergarten doing cutting and pasting the correct number of items to the right place and a Preschooler who is circling what is different in each line.

You can see my seat is on the other side infront of the computer. I can work and help look stuff up at the same time they are working. The biggest issue we have right now is getting the littles to stop talking while I am giving directions to Biggun. We will get there. It just seems right this very moment that it will take forever. (big smile)

Today they all started to hum different songs at the table so I asked them if they wanted music. (Evil eye goes here) They all said YES, yes yes!!!! So went to youtube and looked up Mozart. That totally shocked them but they all stopped humming their own song to hear what was being played. Which made this momma smile!!!

Here are some pic of our day today....

Biggun needs to work on co-op Us Geography cause the teacher keeps sending home papers where we have to fill in the blanks. We will be adding some US Geography games to help him with that.

Well this blog needs to end cause Honey is bugging me to do her daily Time4Learning.com activities for Kindergarten.

Hope your school year is getting off to a great start.

Valentine's Day Fun

We don't do much for Valentine's Day. But today we did talk about the letter H and that heart started with the letter H. So we took an idea from pintrest to use a toilet paper tube to paint hearts all over an H. Love the idea and it was super easy to do.

Fun For All Was Had Today!

Lots of fun was had by all today.

Biggun woke up to do his school, he did a great job and got most of it done before I ever rolled out of bed. Remember he is the early bird and the littles and I are the night owls.
We worked on our new Language Arts together and while he was writing in his notebook he turned to a page where he had made a nice drawing of a jet.

I was really impressed.  I then was reminded of a great set of art games to help him with those drawing skills.  I love to use online educational games to help with our schooling and even our electives.  Biggun left to go play with friends and the littles and I got to work doing all kinds of fun stuff. Here are a few of the things we did.

Made snowflake sticker pictures, then they added chalk to make them even better.

I love how Honey put all most of her snowflakes together according to color. I did not ask her to do that she does did.  Unschooling at its best and I don't unschool.

Next they played outside.  Then they played in a sensory table.  One I had made a while ago but it is still good for now as it had cotton balls to remind them of snow and beans for pouring.

Moose cracks me up he refuses to get dressed. Wants to wear his Buzz Light Year pj's.

Sensory Tubs

Sensory Tubs they are so much fun.  Fun to create and fun to play in.  I was inspired by Counting Coconuts   to create my first sensory tub.  I shared about the first one we created here.

Today I stopped by enJOYing my Journey  and decided that I should post a pic or two of the next one that Honey had a blast playing in....

She is playing with alphabet noodles that I colored.

She had a blast measuring and spooning.  I had to add the white paper so she could see it easier.  Maybe I need to get a white bucket?

My Body Unit - Preschool Fun

I found this great site called:

They have some wonderful ideas on preschool fun.  I am going to try out their All About Me - My Body Unit  w/ Honey (Moose will be right there too, but it is more for Honey)

I am hoping to borrow my son's (Biggun) camera so I can take some pics of our fun as we learn.  I will post updates.
